A Project Sneak Peek
More About Our Maker
Our upcoming workshop is led by artist Nicole Sweeney, an incredibly talented woodworker who builds gorgeous works of geometric art for the home. For this workshop, she is sharing how to build her art by manipulating geometric shapes into much larger pieces of work.
Our artist is from San Francisco, California. She works out of her home studio and creates commissioned art for homes and galleries around the world. Since filming Making It (a friendly competition host on NBC by Nick Offerman and Amy Pohler) featured on NBC (!), Nicole began a foundation that seeks to empower women through storytelling and photography called “Sawdust is Sexy”. Nicole actively shares the message that doing what you LOVE (power tools and all) is what is most important. Be true to yourself and your art. She is inspired by her background in ballet and her bachelors in architecture, “I design with a greater sensitivity to human form, seeking to dissolve the boundary between artists and those that interact with it.”
We can’t wait to see how you are inspired to explore your own creativity using this new technique! Be sure to share with us your process and your projects by tagging @thecraftersbox and @nicole.sweeney_, and by using #thecraftersbox. We’d love to see your work. Happy making!
